Black Air
I have owned this dvd since the day it was released. This is a documentary on the Buick Grand National, and how a strange vehicle from GM would knock the pants off anything it raced (including those from Ferrari, Porsche, and of course Corvettes.) This was a Buick for crying out loud, with a V6 no less. Oh ya, its turbocharged and intercooled(86-87) not to many people knew what that meant much less had that under the hood in the late 80's. From 1984-1987 the Grand National was the fastest production sedan in the world!! This was also GM's swan song for rear wheel drive sedans. The last rear wheel drive sedan made by GM was actually a 1987 Buick Grand National.
Great Job to Andrew Filipone......
Lots of blurry photography, very little content
For dedicated enthusiasts of the car, this documentary is likely great stuff. Most others will quickly grow tired of the out-of-focus "artistic" photography and the lack of much information other than a lot of star-struck owners describing the car with reverential awe. I had hoped to learn more about the GN, but after watching this, I think I actually am less impressed than I was before.
Gearheads Unite !
