Quiet yet intense
The movie moves at a slow and delicate pace, but for some reason the story carries you through to the end rather quickly. There were several scenes that make you almost feel the emotion of the characters. I found myself feeling frustrated, loved, conflicted etc. as I watched the actors in this movie. Benedict Cumberbatch is, of course, fantastic in this movie and I thought Claire Foy's acting was fantastic and very appropriate for the feel of the story. I'm no professional movie critic, but I do appreciate when a story exposes me to a range of circumstances I'm not totally comfortable with and helps me to empathize and even understand them.
I recommend this movie to anyone that likes independent film and modern drama.
Mr Cumberbatch at his very best.
This is a very thoughtful, atmospheric, beautifully acted movie set in an idyllic english village where things aren't quite what they seem. Benedict Cumberbatch gives a stunning performance.
?????
I really wanted to like this movie. I love the actors who play in it, but when it was finished I felt disappointed...it had no resolution and the plot was pretty much everywhere. I guess it's the type of movie where everyone can have their own interpretation, but I wouldn't have felt like I wasted an hour and a half of my life if it had more meat! Not just a slew up lies and betrayal. This is a movie I would recommend to someone who is having a pity party on their own life, because the characters in this are probably much more f---ed up.
